Converts an old BMP file to PNG without altering a single pixel. PNG is lossless, so the image is preserved exactly, but it is properly compressed — usually a half to a tenth of the BMP size.
This is the conversion to choose when the image is a screenshot, a scanned document or a drawing and you want it kept exactly as it is. For a photograph, BMP to JPG gives a far smaller file.
